Eeek...I totally forgot to update. Busy, busy, busy. |
So, I've made a Chocolate Mint soap that it extraordinary...it's curing very, very dark. I think it will be completely black by the time it's done. I did it with coconut, palm, palm kernel, castor and olive. For a 93 ounce pour, I colored with 1 ounce of organic cocoa powder mixed with an ounce of H20. (I reduced the lye water by an ounce.) I scented with 2 ounces of Camden Grey's Chocolate and an ounce of peppermint essential oil. The house smells like dessert. ;)
On a much more subtle scent, I made a batch of Three Kings soap that I think I'll cut into guest bars, and make another bigger batch to see if I can get a layered effect. The batch was scented with Frankincense, myrrh, galbanum, cinnamon, cassia, hyssop, and spikenard. The base color was created with bronze mica stirred in with the oils before lye was added, then I did a very subtle swirl with gold mica. It's really very, very subtle...but gorgeous. Pictures later this weekend. :)
This weekend, I need to label, and count stock...to see what else I'm missing and need to make. I've got a friend's wedding coming up, and I need to go get the supplies to make the favors for the wedding. (We're doing groovy zen stones, cool, no?)
I'll get pictures taken, and get them up too...as long as I'm being ambitious.
